slight hiatus

  • Reading: Negima, Mysterious GF X, Bakuman
  • Watching: FMA: Brotherhood, To Aru Majutsu no Index
  • Playing: A Witch's Tale
Might as well announce it here. I've got a case of drawers block and so me finding ways to over come it. I've also been distracted with MegaTokyo which I'm now a fan of. I read it a long time ago but stopped and so I decided to go back to reading it and It's just so very interesting. It has given me ideas for my comic as well which is still not ready for post, I'm sorry for that I've been distracted and lazy which prevents the finish of the cover. I'll get the thing done and officially start the webcomic asap.

In other news I've came down to San Diego via train (so fun) from my apartment up in Orange County. My older brother and his GF couldn't come down for thanksgiving so I went alone. Yeah I'm down here to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family here It's going to be the first time we won't have Thanksgiving with all the family. I don't have my desk so working on art will be odd but I got some sketches to work on while I'm here. Thinking about trying to use markers even though I dread using them but I figure I have to be able to do traditional and digital media to get my way through this business so I want some thing that is good for newbies as well as it being cheap. I'm not sure what kind of paper to use to, I don't want anything that let marker bleed through.

Anyways happy early Thanksgiving and feast well.

Name: L.A.
Real name: Lawrence (my nickname is comprised of my first and middle initial and that fact that I was born in the city we know as L.A.)
Nationality: Filipino (and a little drop of Chinese somewhere)
The art supplies: 8 and a half by 11 (or bigger) Sketch pads, everyday cheap mechanical pencils, a 2H Pencil, Wacom Bamboo (for digital sketching), WOW-PEN Eco optical pen mouse (for pen tool usage), Photoshop CS2.

Well I stumbled upon DA when I came across Zetallis's page(Stephanie Kao) back in 2003. I then learned that there was people out there close to or at my age range doing incredible art. That sparked my motivation to start drawing manga seriously. I did draw when I was younger (Ya I drew Sailor Moon and that's what got me into anime/ manga.) but I didn't think of it as a career. Anyways I'm currently studying at Cypress College in Orange County, CA to get my degree in Graphic Design while I continue my vast (epic or not) quest to find myself in art. I hope to become a professional in the entertainment industry doing what I love to do for a living.

Favorite artists: Takehito Harada (character designer of the Disgaea series.), Ryusuke Hamamoto (A deviant here.), Satoko Kiyuduki (character design for Yggdra Union, original creator of Shoulder a Coffin Kuro and Geijutsuka Art Design Class.), Ueda Hajime (Artist for the FLCL manga and original creator of Q-Ko-chan.), Ken Akamatsu (creator of Love Hina and Mahou Sensei Negima), and many more.

I'm always open for buddies so if your looking for one give me a try.

Anyways Welcome to my DA page and I hope you enjoy what you see.

Also visit my Manga Bullet page [link] It's pretty empty but I might submit some different pieces there just to keep things interesting. Also visit my Youtube channel [link] where you can watch some videos of me doing photoshop work and watch my Touhou infected favorites section. I will also have a (or atleast I hope) a Comickas page as well once that community is up and running.

Just on a whim I made another version of your mascot "solstice" that is based on our collaborated work before. I was going through some old drawings and stumbled upon a piece that I made back then when we finished "tank commander solstice ver.2". you can check it out on my scrapbook and tell me what you think...
=D
:iconthe-la:
I think I remember which one your talking about. I think it's where she is standing in front of the tanks or something.
